CHRISTMAS IN BRANSON –

Here are five of our favorite ways to celebrate Christmas in Branson.

  1. Shopping Galore! Tanger Outlet Mall always has great deals. With 38 apparel stores, a full dozen outlets for children’s apparel, twenty places to purchase shoes, and sixteen specialty outlets, one can always find great deals. At Christmas, however, the savings are incredible.   Or head downtown and visit Dick’s 5 & 10 with forgotten treasures and phenomenal values.  The Branson Landing is breathtaking, adorned with Christmas Lights and décor.  And the selection or restaurants and shops is outstanding.  For a truly unique experience, visit The Grand Village, featuring specialty shops of all kinds.  The Branson Mill is another exceptional shopping experience, featuring artisans on the property.  The Amish Store is right next door!  These are just some of our favorites.  Branson, a spectacular shopping mecca…

  2. Branson’s Adoration Parade.  The 68th Annual Adoration Celebration will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2016. Pre-parade activities begin at 3:30pm.  The lighting of the largest area nativity scene, overlooking Lake Taneycomo, illuminates at dusk… the parade will start around 5:30pm in the historic downtown area of Branson, Missouri.  It’s a wonderful parade at the most wonderful time of the year.

  3. Dozens of Christmas Shows. Nearly every theater in town shifts gears in November and presents a Christmas show. Some of them dedicate only a portion of their show to Christmas songs, but many go all out. While it seems unfair to select just one when so many deserve mention, one of our favorite Christmas shows is the Andy Williams Christmas Extravaganza featuring The Osmond Brothers and The Lennon Sisters.   In addition, Maxine’s Christmas Carol, presented by Hallmark Cards and featuring the self-appointed “Queen of Crabbiness”, a twist on the Charles Dickens’  classic holiday story, A Christmas Carol, comes to life on stage.  Both of these holiday treasures can be enjoyed at the Andy Williams Performing Arts Center.

  4. Christmas Lights Tours. See the best of Branson’s Christmas lights in the style and comfort of a chauffeur-driven limo, when you enjoy Branson Limousine Christmas Lights Tour. The rates are remarkably reasonable and the lights never fail to impress. Guests may include up to two of Branson’s three drive-thru Christmas light displays. The tour also includes some of the best neighborhood displays, including those tucked away out of sight of most tourists.  Or experience the luxury VIP Tours of Branson, accessible at the Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Theater, for a night full of lights to remember.

  5. Branson’s Gift of Lights. For generations, Branson has offered drive-thru Christmas lighting displays. This year, there are three. The oldest is the Festival of Lights at Shepherd of the Hills Homestead. It features many unique, vintage displays, including some that are animatronic. Ozark Mountain Christmas, north of town, offers a square city block of traditional Christmas lights and displays in an undeveloped industrial park that always pulls on the heart’s sense of the nostalgia. Top of the list for us is Branson’s Gift of Lights!  This display, expanding over a mile, features a reading of the Christmas story set to lights, the 12 Days of Christmas, Hark the Herald Angels Display, and some whimsical, endearing displays.  Always a favorite with kids young and old, Branson’s Gift of Lights opens every night at dusk and runs until 11:00pm, November 1 – January 1, 2016.
